Is cost an issue?

Speakers entertain, educate and challenge. They can be a powerful catalyst to changing the way students think, feel and act. Many schools across America tap into funding to help pay for a speaker.

Any NCAA active member institution or conference is eligible to apply for a $500 grant that partially or fully funds speaker fees for a department of athletics drug-education or wellness program.

Your objectives for hiring a speaker will make a difference in how you fund an assembly. With a particular objective in mind, students and staff will be more motivated to find funding.

I have gathered some resources to assist you in your fund raising efforts. Included in this special report is:

• a top ten list of how to get funding

• a sample letter to obtain sponsorship

• a sample press release to get the community on board and to recognize your sponsors

• a case study of a teacher who single-handedly obtained funding for a full day program for girls within two weeks of deciding to bring me in.

“Kathleen’s success with the 450 very diverse teenagers was obvious. She was the only presenter throughout the conference that held their complete attention and received a standing ovation by the teens when she was through.”
- Cynthia Gonsalves

“Girls’ Voices… Good Choices has received praise from school and town administrators, parents, state legislators, and above all from the girls themselves… Truly a ripple effect in action, and her much needed message is spreading.”

Kathleen Hassan, Young Women's Leadership Conference

“I highly recommend Kathleen as a keynote for events such as our Young Women’s Leadership Conference. It is a challenge to keep this age group of 1500 7th grade girls engaged and Kathleen did a tremendous job doing just that. The keynote has to be an expert in working with this age group, understanding the issues, and communicating the key messages, but also be entertaining and able to earn their trust. Kathleen accomplishes all of those things and really connects with the girls. They were lining up for hugs and asking for her autograph after the event!”
Dianne Moore, Women’s Health Services Coordinator, Wellspan Hospitial Women’s Center

As practitioners, educators, parents, or simply as human beings, now more than ever we are being called to educate, inspire, mentor and model a spirit-centered life for our kids.

Kathleen Hassan is a national expert on self-esteem and empowerment and is a sought-after motivational speaker at schools and youth conferences throughout the United States. For over a decade, Kathleen has been motivating adults and inspiring teens to unleash their potential and unlock their personal power towards self-confidence and success.

Her message of self-worth, vision and personal power comes from her real-life experience of turning tragedy into triumph and obstacles into opportunities. Her own life’s lessons have become the foundation and core philosophy of her business which is based on love, compassion and a deep commitment to help people create a balanced life of peace, prosperity and true happiness.
Kathleen’s greatest joy is helping kids shine their light. She has a passion for working with teens, especially teenage girls.

A personal message from Kathleen:

I believe that girls have the power to heal and change the world. But we must help them how to tap into their authentic power within and teach them how to love and accept themselves - just the way they are. What used to be a normal stage of development has exploded into a cultural war zone where a girl’s worst enemy is herself. I know firsthand the pain from the ravages of low self-esteem and I have spent my entire life healing and developing my own self-esteem and confidence. I am so passionate about helping young women all over the world become the person they were born to be. It is a privilege to be a part of each girls’ journey towards empowerment. Don’t deny your girls the opportunity to experience this feeling. Then watch the ripple effect throughout your school or ogranization. That is the power of love in action. Together we can change the world!

“Words cannot express how much we appreciate all that you added to our Mother-Daughter Day on Saturday.  Your presentation was amazing.  You inspired all of us to think positively. You held the girls’ attention and shared such valuable information with them.  You encouraged Moms to think of their daughters and themselves as fabulous human beings.  You were a pleasure to work with and to be with.  I am delighted that you came into our lives and made so many women and girls smile.  Our sincerest thanks!

I am sending you our evaluation summary so you can see just how much you touched the lives of our participants.  Kudos to you.  We are already looking forward to next year and we’ll have to talk about how you can play a continuing role.”
